Who are Generation Y?
Generation Y are a youth marketing agency (we are all about the students). We operate Oxygen.ie, compile a monthly satirical e-zine titled the Spanner, and orchestrate various promotions on college campuses nationwide. In the past we have worked with KBC, Dunnes Stores, Nutella, FlyeFit, The Irish Times and Boost, just to name a few!
At present we are on the lookout for a highly organised, motivated individual to help with the planning and organisation of the National Student Media Awards 2018. The successful candidate will work directly with the marketing and events manager, assisting with the development of the event.
The National Student Media awards have been running since 2003 and celebrate student contribution to TV, Print, Film, Design, Radio and Writing. The ceremony takes place in April and is attended by 500 plus people, throughout the night the event is presented by a host of Irish public figures commending outstanding students in their chosen field.
What to Expect
•Contacting relevant colleges, key figures and students to encourage entry submissions
•Researching and contacting relevant Irish celebrities involved in media to judge and present the event
•Sourcing event space and or any materials that meet the requirements of the National Student Media Awards
•Compiling marketing and PR documentation to be disseminated to the correct third parties pre and post event
•Managing Social Media via are established channels that meet the requirements of client sponsorship agreements
•Organising key promotional materials such as tickets, brochures, pop-ups etc.
•Reporting on the event and compiling material to be sent to the clients post campaign
•Attend the event; organisation on the day and meet and greet presenters
•Adhoc administration to support the smooth running of the lead up to and event itself
A business / marketing / events qualification or previous experience preparing, monitoring and managing a large event
Highly organised with attention to detail
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Responsible and hard-working, with the ability to lead by example
Ability to work smart in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
Must be capable of working on his/her own initiative but also as part of a team
