Job Title: International Programme Intern
Habitat for Humanity Ireland is delighted to be recruiting an International Programme Intern to join our team in Dublin.
This is an excellent opportunity for the right candidate to gain experience within a very busy office. The role involves multiple projects and gives responsibility for tasks to the candidate and will be suitable for someone with a strong interest in overseas development.
About the role
We are seeking a talented, creative and enthusiastic candidate to work closely with and support the Habitat for Humanity Ireland team in the implementation of the HFH Ireland International Programme strategy.
The successful candidate will work closely with the International Programme Manager and Programme Support Officer and will be proactive in the implementation of HFH Ireland’s Global Village (international volunteering programme) strategy through the recruitment, training, support and co-ordination of volunteers on the Global Village (GV) programme. There will be a strong admin element to this position.
• GV Teams: processing volunteer applications; supporting team leaders and volunteers in all aspects of their preparation for their overseas trip; this includes continuous email/phone support to team leaders; fundraising support to volunteers; interaction with our overseas partners; compilation of Orientation, Emergency and Ambassador packs and other duties
• GV Promotion: working with HFH Ireland Communications Dept. on promotional material for GV trips. Active promotion of trips. Attending fairs if required. Follow up with Team members on trip return to obtain photos and descriptions of trip
• GV Other: Assist in Team Leader and team trainings and any GV event as required
• Finance & Admin Support: Basic finance; typing letters, placing stationary orders, recording Tax forms; General office duties as required
• Carry the Emergency Phone – on call 24/7 for when teams are abroad (if required)

Excellent written and oral communications skills
A good working knowledge of MS Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Publisher
Be sympathetic to the ethos, vision and values of Habitat for Humanity Ireland
A professional phone manner
Willing to deliver presentations/workshops where required
Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines
Committed to working in the volunteer sector (in particular overseas and development issues)
Committed team player
Motivated and enthusiastic about international volunteering
Likes interacting with people in a supportive role
Comfortable speaking in group settings and cold calling
Comfortable in communicating the Christian ethos, vision and values of the organisation
Flexible and available to work occasional evenings or weekends as necessary
Willing to travel around Dublin and outside Dublin and Ireland occasionally
Knowledge of using Salesforce CRM system
Overseas experience in a voluntary or NGO capacity
Awareness of Development Education
Hold a current drivers licence
This internship is for 3 months. It is a volunteer role with a stipend of €440 per month. The support intern is a valued member of the Habitat Ireland team and will have access to mentoring and training opportunities.
