Internship Description

City Wonders provides some of the most popular tours to some of Europe’s most prominent locations, Our 5-Star experience and innovative products have brought us great success in 10 cities across the world including, Rome, Paris, London, Barcelona, Milan, Venice and Vatican City.

We are seeking interns to participate in our Summer Internship Scheme across our operational departments.

What You Will Learn with City Wonders
All of our internships give a chance to experience the fast paced and busy aspects of the tourism industry.

Every internship includes projects to work on and admin skill development but depending on the department that interests you most you will also receive full training and work experience in the specific skills and competencies of the team.

The Operations Department
+ Distributor Data Management: Our Interns will be handling bookings and refunds for our distributor accounts under the supervision of their managers.
+ Resource and Operational Administration: The internship will give the students an opportunity to managing booking resources for tours, tracking information and trouble shooting on-site difficulties
+ Communications and Interdepartmental Activities: Our interns will have an opportunity to work with other sections of the business to solve problems and get a greater understanding of the Tourism sector and the City Wonders company structure

The Purchasing Department
+ Buyer Experience: The intern will be given experience in the tourism industry and the role of a Buyer, particularly with such high profile venues as the Coloseum and the Vatican.
+Venue Relationship: The Purchasing team maintains a professional relationship with our venues, this will give the Intern experience in data management for these key accounts and also insight into how they, and the companies they liasie with, operate in the Tourism sector.
+ Procurement Administration: The role will involve working with staples of the Office Environment such as Excel and Word, as well as our bespoke Back Office and the unique Venue Portals we work with day to day.
+ Business Communications: The Purchasing team is very communications focused, the Intern will be able to improve their Excel and Word skills as well as their business communication skills with emails and other mediums.

The Sales and Customer Care Department
+ Query Resolution and Trouble Shooting: The Intern will be involved in handling e-mail queries and managing failed bookings on our systems.
+ Customer Contact Campaigns: The Intern will be part of the effort to encourage TripAdvisor reviews from past customers who have been on our tours.
+ Special Requirement Management: Part of the Internship role is ensuring the special requirement requests added to bookings by customers are managed properly.
+ Communications Projects: Various projects will come up during the course of the internship including issueing reports in relation to our venues, such as the Eiffel tower, and using Core Realtime to mass message customers in instances where it is required.

The Inventory Department
+ Managing Inventory Data: The Inventory Intern will be part of a close knit team that ensure the entire company adheres to its limitations and never oversells and office.
+ Extranet Process Participation: Our relationship with each distributor is key, by working on their extranet the intern will be fully trained in how to ensure we close off and administrate the ticket sales to our hundreds of products.
+ Closing Tours: The Inventory team ensures that we set, monitor and process all ticket inventories, closing off tours in the back office system and record the data so that it can inform the future plans of the business. The Intern on this team will be show how to manage this and mentored by the team to coordinate with all stakeholders.

The Scheduling Department
