Full-Time Internship Business Management & Admin Internship @ Dublin
The Personal Training Company based in the town centre of Dublin has a requirement for Undergraduate / Masters Interns in the field of Business Management / Business Administration starting July 2017 onwards.
Through years of experience, the undertaking of numerous research projects and through tried and tested methods, The Personal Training Company is taking active steps to move its business services from the gym environment to a fully automated and interactive online exercise training, nutrition and lifestyle system.
As these projects need to progress forward and gather momentum, the parent company ‘The Personal Training Company’ must also maintain its focus and workload with its existing 1:1 client business. The additional project workload has generated the need and urgency for interns that are seeking real ‘hands on’ experience in a small yet very active office.
The scale of the project work is unprecedented due to the standard of work required to ensure its global success and to make sure the online products and services are easy to use and highly effective in the hands of any client demographic. We have drafted a vision (ongoing), outlined the necessary strategic business documents and drafted the goals / tasks that need to be completed in order to make this vision materialise. A lot of work has been completed with this project but there is a lot more to do.
AN INTERNSHIP AT THE PERSONAL TRAINING COMPANY
We are offering the right candidates the opportunity to partake in a very unique internship where we consider the active business practice to be your live learning environment. We are a very small company therefore we literally mean that an internship with us will be a ‘hands on’ opportunity where you (the intern) will play an active role in managing a working business along with the project development and management.
Unlike some internships in larger companies, this is not a ‘paper pushing’ role and so you will not be limited to light work duties. Rather you will be at the forefront of a live business, its projects and processes and thus come away with a real understanding and experience from your time with us. To start there is a brief orientation will give you an overview of the company and the status of the start-up projects.
After this you will look to ‘hit the ground running’ as you are brought straight into the heart of the business and the projects, where your studies and experience will be called upon as it would in any other business / company.
Whilst your internship is managed and supervised by Mr. Ranford, the 1:1 client work must also continue during the internship, we therefore seek interns who are willing to work under their own merit and put their knowledge / skills to the test as well as working alongside Mr. Ranford and the other team members.
Our staff roster consists of;
– Gary Ranford: Full time, management of his clients, the PT business, head of the projects and the manager of interns
– Corina O’Donnell: Part time (am). Responsible for HR and to oversee the work is completed (Business and projects)
– Intern 1: Role and duties as detailed
– Intern 2: Role and duties as detailed
– Research Student: Specific research and data analysis duties (off site) (This position is filled)

YOUR ROLE AT THE PERSONAL TRAINING COMPANY
Business Operations, Process Management and Business Administration
*Understanding and the management of the existing PT business
*The detailing of the vision, with a full evaluation and specific research into the business model.
*PT product and services document design: Exercise programs, nutrition plans, lifestyle methodology.
*Software application: Draft design, key features, ease of use, interactive methods, research, testing (B2B design concept).
*Task management: Process, prioritising and action
*Office meetings (In-house and external)
*Database management: PT Clients accounts, products and services management
*Research: Template design, usage, outsource management, and database admin
*Filing management (Computer based and office)
*Client relations: Managing Q&A’s, newsletters, feedback and testimonials
Project Management / New Business Development and Innovation
*Become a key figure in the related business projects.
*Designing strategic business related documents.
*Draft detailing of the business processes and operations (Services and products).
*Testing of proposed business operations and processes.
*New Business Development: Brain storming, meetings, drafting the scope of work, task implementation
*Strategic business documents: Design, review, evaluate, edit, implement and management of
*Project management application software: Set up, upload / infill (Timeline / Gantt chart)
*Task management: Process, prioritising and action
*Team / Project manager: Responsibility of team leader role, control and structure of the project(s)
*Target forecasting (Sales pipeline)
*Sales database (Income streams)
*Financial accounts (Company overheads, profit and loss, balance sheet)
The ideal candidate should be:
*Enthusiastic and energetic

*Fluent in English, both written and verbal (Communication is essential)
Intern skillsets required:
*IT skills including MS Outlook, Word and Excel, File explorer
*Google search and log data (research framework)
*General business admin / office support
*Have relative education and experience (where possible) in the area of the internship.

*ONC/A Level: Business Management, Social Communications, Science & Engineering Diploma
*36 years of exercise training experience
*Over 25,000 hours of professional PT, nutritional & clinical health practice
*I practice what I preach (A prime example of a fifty year old in healthy physical shape)
*Specialise in aspect of training through posture and form: Weight loss, physique shaping, core dynamics, strength work, endurance sports, calisthenics, etc.
